In addition to providing battery power to the X26 Taser device, the Extended Digital Power Magazine (XDPM) is used to upload warranty information to the X26 Taser unit.   

 Holds 1 extra cartridge on bottom of X26 unit. Approximately 195 5-second firings at room temperature. Ten (10 year shelf life. 

 Each Taser device includes a one (1) year factory warranty.  To increase the life of the warranty on a Taser device, you can purchase a DPM with an extended warranty of one (1) year or four (4) years, thus decreasing the cost of repair and replacement of the device for an additional length of time. 

Much more than just battery for the X26, the DPM is an onboard memory chip that maintains a record of the remaining power level in the DPM. This memory also contains specific information of energy cell performance and life expectancy for the energy cell pack at various temperatures, and for various loads. The X26 keeps track of how much the various features of the weapon are affecting the energy cell life and updates the memory in the DPM accordingly. The battery percentage indicated is a calculated value and not a direct reading of the battery voltage.
